Thanks giving Bible Verses

Use these 30 days of Thanksgiving Bible verses either for the month of November, the holiday of Thanksgiving, or any day for giving thanks! I think one of my favorite Thanksgiving Scriptures must be 1 Thessalonians 5:18, along with the two verses before it – (1) 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 NIV “Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” I love this verse because it doesn’t say, “give thanks for all circumstances,” but “in all circumstances.” When we choose to have an attitude of gratitude, keeping our focus on Jesus, the outcome is His joy that fills us no matter what surrounds us! Daniel gives us a wonderful example to follow when he is faced with troubled circumstances and accusations against him; he gives than...

A Quiet Time to be Refilled

I know what you’re thinking.  “How do I find time for a quiet time in the midst of the craziness of life?!”  I get busy! I also understand what it’s like to feel drained and empty.  This is why finding time alone with God is not just a luxury, it’s vital to our survival! A time of devotion is not to earn “brownie points” with God.  It is a time set aside to be with Him without distractions, a time to rest in His presence and know Him. So let’s keep it simple.  A quiet time does not have to be long and does not have to be in a certain place.  This is a time to do as God says in Psalm 46:1 – “Be still, and know that I am God.”  The “know” in this verse does not mean to know about; it is in reference to knowing thro...

A Godprint Christian Devotion

Meditate: Think about it….breathing is something we are constantly doing. Stop for a moment and see how long you can hold your breath. Why couldn’t you continue holding your breath? Yes, we need to breathe to live! That’s just how our bodies work. Prayer can be a lot like breathing. Paul states in 1 Thessalonians 5:17 that we are to “pray without ceasing.” Does this mean we are constantly walking around with our heads bowed and eyes closed?!  Absolutely not! Can you imagine what would happen? That could be dangerous! Most of the time, we’re not even aware of our breathing; we don’t even have to think about it.  It just happens naturally.  God wants us to be so aware of His presence with us that it becomes natural to communicate with Him throughout ...
